North Platte rail days 2018

      Me and my brother went to North Platte rail days. We walked around cody park and looked inside UP 3977. We rode the bus to the bailey yard and golden spike and back. After that, we went to the train downtown to attempt to ride the train. We were on the waiting list till they told us that the train is full. We catch the operational lifesaver train in Maxwell and went on home from there.

    I went videotaping trains from Wood River to Kearney along the Union Pacific's Kearney Subdivision. I ended up with 20 Union Pacific trains. I could have gotten more in the late afternoon. But it rained from Kearney to West of Wood River. While it not rained, i did a food review. Got a UP 2001 the olympic torch locomotive. A few times during the day, i got 7 locomotives including the SD60 unit at Gibbon Junction.

      I decided to go film along the Union Pacific line. I saw a train heading into Wood River. I filmed a manifest train in Wood River in which my co-worker does live near the Union Pacific tracks. After that, i went to Cabela's in Kearney to go use the restroom. After that, i see 2 union pacific trains in Kearney. I had to pick which train i should go after. I pick the intermodal train over the loaded coal train. I filmed the intermodal train west of Kearney. It was a great choice because of another train that has 7 Union Pacific units. The intermodal train had 4 units. For a grand total of 11 units.


      After that, i went to Gibbon to film some more Union Pacific train in Gibbon. In between, I had to get 3 2-liters of Pepsi products at dollar general. I had a spicy italian sub from Subway, & did 2 new food reviews on youtube. I originally wanted this video to be my 2900th video, but that didn't happen oh,well. I filmed more Union Pacific trains from west of Gibbon to the last train of the day west of Grand Island. I ended up filming 21 trains.

       I started with seeing the train in Hastings and drove on a gravel road to Juanita. After that, i followed the train to Kenesaw in which i didn't make it in time. After that, I drove back to Hastings to catch a grain train. All CSX behind BNSF along the Hastings Subdivision. There are 3 trains i videotaped along the Hastings Subdivision.

     After that, I got me something to eat at Burger King to do a food review on the extra long philly cheeseburger and did the food review near Hayland along the Union Pacific's Marysville Subdivision. After that, i videotaped Union Pacific trains from Gibbon to Alda with 2 more food reviews in between trains.

Union Pacific Action from Kearney to Gibbon,NE 3 20 2016

       Here is my story, I decided to go do some railfanning around the Kearney area along the Union Pacific's Kearney Subdivision main line. I tried to catch the first grain train from Gibbon to Kearney on US 30. The train was gone as i had to slow down for the city of Kearney. I went thru Kearney to 30th Ave. So i turned left to the overpass. Before i went to the overpass, i turned right to the gravel road to make a right turn. I drove around and see some sandhill cranes near the Union Pacific tracks. I stayed on gravel to Odessa on US 30 and went back the way i came. 

     Until i see the manifest train headed for Kearney. The train stopped in Kearney and switched going into Kearney. Around 12:30 in the afternoon, i got my food in which before i did a couple food reviews including the newest sub at subway. I also saw a radio personally in Gibbon. We didn't talk at all. I went blank on that. I was like in my own mind "Who is this person?"  He saw my tripod and my camcorder in the car. After all that, i went to Gibbon Junction and filmed trains there for about 2 hours. The Marysville Sub was busy and also ended up with the engineer saying to me "Hey,Brad" twice. I was stoned on what happened in my own mind. One by a radio personally, & two by an engineer.  On the results, i filmed 21 trains and i had a great time filming trains.
